Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Lead and manage the English Department effectively.
Plan and implement curriculum for Grades 6 to 12.
Ensure quality teaching-learning practices aligned with CBSE/IGCSE/IB standards (as applicable).
Prepare annual academic plans, lesson plans, and assessment schedules.
Monitor classroom teaching standards and student performance.
Team Management
Mentor, guide, and evaluate English teachers.
Conduct regular departmental meetings and training sessions.
Support teachers in innovative teaching methodologies and classroom management.
Encourage collaborative learning and professional development.
Student Development
Improve students’ communication, grammar, writing, reading, and public speaking skills.
Organize literary activities such as debates, essay writing, storytelling, elocution, and MUNs.
Identify slow learners and gifted students and provide academic support plans.
Prepare students for board examinations and competitive assessments.
Curriculum & Assessment
Design worksheets, question papers, assignments, and projects.
Review examination papers and evaluation standards.
Analyze result performance and prepare improvement strategies.
Ensure timely completion of syllabus and assessments.
Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain department records and academic reports.
Coordinate with school leadership regarding academic progress.
Participate in admissions, parent meetings, inspections, and school events.
Support school branding through academic excellence and literary programs.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in English (MA English)
B.Ed. is mandatory
Minimum 5–10 years of teaching experience in reputed schools
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as HOD/Coordinator preferred
Required Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Curriculum planning and classroom observation skills
Expertise in English grammar, literature, and language development
Knowledge of modern teaching methodologies and digital learning tools
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Preferred Candidate Profile
Experience in CBSE/International curriculum schools
Passionate about student-centered learning
Ability to inspire teachers and students
Strong command over spoken and written English
