Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Service Now Developer with 7+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing Service Now solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in ITSM, CMDB, Integrations, Scoped/Custom Applications, and Service Portal, along with deep scripting knowledge and experience in scalable enterprise implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and customize Service Now applications based on business requirements.
- Lead and implement solutions across ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge).
- Design, configure, and maintain CMDB with strong understanding of CI classes, relationships, and integrations.
- Develop custom scoped applications, workflows, and automation using Flow Designer and Integration Hub.
- Build and manage integrations using REST, SOAP, Integration Hub spokes and scripted APIs.
- Develop and maintain Service Portal pages, widgets, and UI components.
- Perform advanced server-side and client-side scripting using:
Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions and Glide APIs
- Ensure performance optimization, security best practices, and adherence to Service Now development standards.
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentoring to junior developers.
- Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and external vendors during solution design and delivery.
- Support Service Now upgrades, releases, and platform governance.
Required
Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on Service Now development experience.
- Strong experience in:
- ITSM
- CMDB & CSDM concepts
- Integrations (REST, SOAP, Integration Hub)
- Custom application development
- Service Portal
- Excellent server-side and client-side JavaScript scripting skills.
- Strong experience with Integration Hub, Flow Designer, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience with ACLs, roles, data security, and performance tuning.
- Good understanding of Service Now best practices, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Good to Have
- Service Now certifications (CSA, CAD, CIS – ITSM, Integration Hub).
- Experience working in large enterprise or multi-instance environments.
- Exposure to upgrade planning and technical debt remediation
