We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Manager, Cyber Recovery Engineering & Enablement Lead to drive enterprise-wide disaster & cyber recovery, engineering, and enablement. This role integrates resiliency into agile delivery, leads automation efforts, and ensures alignment with business continuity and recovery objectives. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills—perfect for someone who thrives on rolling up their sleeves and solving complex challenges while also mentoring a high-performing team.
Serve as the manager for a team of engineering specialists, partnering on the recovery solutions, support applications teams with resiliency assessments. Review and update assessment criteria annually.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of resiliency engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
- Define team goals/ OKR’s, track progress, and ensure successful delivery of projects and operational support.
- Work closely with IT leadership, security teams, and other stakeholders to align network strategies with business needs.
- knowledge of modern resiliency and recovery techniques, and excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
Hands-On Technical Work
- Lead the development and implementation of modular, scalable cyber recovery plans for critical assets.
- Act as the point person for critical decision-making during cyber events, including coordination with executive leadership and external partners
- Facilitate L1 walkthroughs, tabletop exercises, and post-incident reviews to refine recovery protocols
- Lead creation and maintenance of Cyber Recovery Run Books
- Support application teams with assessments and readiness planning, ensuring recovery sequencing is aligned and reviewed annually
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across the recovery lifecycle
- Partner with risk and compliance team to align OKRs and report metrics
- Serve as a key decision-maker during cyber events and recovery operations
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend resiliency solutions, application assessment criteria, and vendors.
- Oversee recovery planning, validations exercises, and run budget for team
- Develop and maintain comprehensive recovery documentation, including diagrams, standards, and procedures
Collaboration & Communication
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience mentoring or leading technical discussions
- Manage BCM system change control processes to minimize downtime and risk
Required
Skills & Experience:
- 5–7 years in IT operations, infrastructure, or business continuity, with at least 2 years of IT leadership experience
- Strong understanding of cyber threat landscapes and recovery strategies
- Strong knowledge of cyber recovery, IaC, Dev Ops, and SRE practices
- Certifications in DR, BC, ITIL, or CISSP preferred
- Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
