Job Description:
IBM Content Manager / Content Navigator / Datacap Developer & Administrator
Position Summary
The IBM Content Manager (CM), IBM Content Navigator (ICN), and Datacap Developer/Administrator will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and administering enterprise content management (ECM) solutions. This role involves hands‑on development using IBM Datacap and File Net technologies, workflow automation, system upgrades, cloud migration, and ongoing operational support across multiple environments (Dev/Test/Prod).
Key Responsibilities
1. Datacap Development
- Develop and configure Datacap applications using Datacap Studio, Taskmaster Server, Application Manager, and Rulerunner services.
- Develop and configure desktops, team spaces, repositories, viewer mappings, and security models using IBM Content Navigator (ICN).
- Build and manage File Net workflows, including complex routing across multiple work queues, in‑baskets, and custom queues.
- Build intelligent data capture solutions using ICR, OCR, and OMR extraction techniques.
- Design and implement page identification, hierarchical structures, batch splitting, and validation rules.
- Create custom actions for PDF manipulation, email triggers, and specialized processing.
- Develop scripts for custom panels and build Nenu applications, including Nenu Manager usage.
- Integrate Datacap with Content Manager, ensuring accurate export of images and metadata.
- Configure export services aligned with security standards.
- Implement Taskmaster Server failover configurations for high availability.
- Support migration of Datacap applications from v8.0.1 to v9.1.5, including transition from standalone thick clients to ICN‑integrated solutions.
2. Administration & System Upgrades
On‑Premises Upgrades & Maintenance
- Upgrade Datacap versions, including installation, configuration, and deployment.
- Install and upgrade ICN, coordinate database backups/restores, and support DB upgrades from DB2 11.1 → 11.5.x.
- Upgrade IBM CMEE from v8.6 to v8.7 and manage migrations across Linux and Windows.
- Upgrade IBM Web Sphere 8.5 → 9.0.5.x, apply fix packs, and maintain application server configurations.
- Perform Datacap patching/upgrades.
- Good understanding on LDAP / SSO integrations/functionalities.
- Monitor upgrade processes and validate successful migration of CPE and ICN artifacts.
- Troubleshoot ECM applications, CE/ICN deployments, logs, ICC ingestion services, and performance issues.
- Resolve Service Now tickets related to Datacap/ECM.
- Create and manage task routes for ICC for shared drives.
- Conduct ongoing system health checks for CPE and ICN.
General Administration
- Implement performance tuning procedures for production environments.
- Develop Unix and Power Shell scripts for automation.
- Configure load balancing for application servers.
- Work closely with IBM Support on PMRs and cases to resolve platform‑level issues.
- Perform data migration tasks across CPE and content repositories.
- Apply changes to CPE using ACCE.

Required
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with IBM Datacap, Content Manager & Content Navigator.
- Workable knowledge with Java, scripts (Linux, Power Shell), and workflow development.
- Hands‑on experience with DB2, Web Sphere Application Server, and enterprise storage configurations.
- Experience in system upgrades, cloud migrations, and ECM platform administration.
- Understanding of security models, metadata management, workflow automation, and content lifecycle management.
Preferred Qualifications
- IBM certifications in Datacap or Content Manager.
- Experience across multiple OS platforms (Linux/Windows).
- Exposure to automation and Dev Ops practices for ECM environments is a plus.
