Key Responsibilities

• Database Monitoring & Maintenance:
o Monitor Teradata health using Viewpoint.
o Perform space management and housekeeping activities.
o Validate scheduled jobs for successful execution.

• Incident Handling & Escalation:
o Act as the first point of contact for database-related issues.
o Log and prioritise tickets in the ticketing system.
o Troubleshoot basic problems and escalate complex issues to relevant teams.

• Security & Compliance:
o Manage user access and permissions.
o Ensure compliance with organisational security policies.
o Monitor and report unauthorised access attempts.

• Backup & Recovery:
o Validate backup processes and assist in recovery operations.
o Maintain accurate documentation for backup and restore activities.

• Capacity Monitoring:
o Track space utilisation and generate usage reports.
o Coordinate with teams for resource provisioning as needed.

• Troubleshooting & Support:
o Investigate anomalies and performance issues.
o Provide timely updates during outages and maintain resolution documentation.

Required

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

• 4–8 years of experience in technical support or database environments.

• Strong knowledge of Teradata SQL and utilities.

• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and ticketing tools.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to work in rotational shifts.

• Teradata certifications (e.g., Teradata Certified Professional, Teradata Administrator).

• Experience with cloud environments (e.g., Databricks).

• Exposure to Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
