Role Description
Vectorr AI is seeking highly skilled  Data Scientists  from premier institutes to contribute to high-impact AI and data science projects while also leading and mentoring student contributor teams.
The role combines strong  technical expertise in data science and machine learning  with  program and project management responsibilities . Selected candidates will work closely with AI teams to solve complex problems, build analytical solutions, and ensure the smooth execution of project deliverables while guiding emerging technical talent.
This position requires individuals who can balance  hands-on technical work, mentorship, and coordination across project work streams  while maintaining high-quality outputs in a fast-paced AI environment.

Engagement Terms
Role:
Independent Contractor (IC)

Location:

Remote
Availability Requirement: 35–40 hours per week
Compensation: $60–$80 per hour (based on experience and profile)
Experience

Required:

Strong experience in Data Science / Machine Learning

Responsibilities
Data Science and AI Decelopment
Apply data science and machine learning techniques to solve complex analytical problems
Work on AI model development, data analysis, experimentation, and evaluation
Build and optimize data pipelines, analytical models, and ML workflows
Support AI teams with insights derived from large datasets
Project and Program Management
Manage project work streams and coordinate task execution across contributors
Track project progress and ensure timely delivery of milestones
Maintain high-quality standards for deliverables and technical outputs
Mentorship and Team Leadership
Guide and mentor student contributors working on AI-related projects
Provide technical feedback, review work outputs, and support learning development
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
Cross Functional Collaboration
Work closely with AI researchers, engineers, and project stakeholders
Communicate technical findings and progress updates effectively
Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency across projects

Qualifications
Strong background in  Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields
Graduate from premier institutes such as:
Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)
Other Tier-1 engineering or technology institutions
Strong programming and analytical skills

Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, and ML frameworks
Ability to manage multiple project work streams efficiently
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote and fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills
Experience mentoring students or junior technical contributors
Prior exposure to  program or project management  in technical environments
Experience working on  large-scale AI or machine learning projects
Strong proficiency in  Python and data science libraries
Familiarity with collaborative development environments and workflow management
