GCP Data Engineer

About Position:

We are seeking a GCP Data Engineer who will be responsible for migrating a large‑scale wholesale banking data mart from on‑prem Teradata to Google Big Query, including schema redesign, SQL conversion, and ETL/ELT orchestration. Designs performance‑optimized, cost‑efficient. Big Query data models while ensuring data accuracy, controls, lineage, and regulatory readiness. Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to deliver secure, production‑ready analytics solutions with post‑migration support and optimization.

What You'll Do:

Migration of a wholesale banking Data Mart from on‑Prem Teradata to GCP Big Query. Data sourced from multiple upstream systems via complex ETL pipelines with business logic embedded in Teradata stored procedures.
Final curated datasets support various use cases including FR Y regulatory submissions, making data accuracy, controls, lineage, audit readiness, and formal migration sign‑off critical responsibilities for this role.

Expertise You'll Bring:

Strong hands‑on experience migrating large‑scale datasets from On Prem to Google Big Query Deep expertise in Big Query data modeling, including table design, partitioning, clustering, and cost‑efficient query patterns
Advanced SQL proficiency, with proven experience converting RDBMS SQL, stored procedures and complex transformation logic into Big Query‑compatible SQL
Hands‑on experience designing and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer), including DAG development and dependency management Experience building batch data pipelines and managing multi‑source data ingestion into Big Query Experience implementing data quality checks, reconciliation, and integrity controls during migration concepts, migration strategies, and production readiness standards
