About the Role
The SAP Basis Expert will be responsible for managing the SAP platform and integrated tools, ensuring optimal performance and security while coordinating with various stakeholders on maintenance tasks and improvements.
Responsibilities
Own Basis Business as Usual Activities for SAP platform and integrated tools.
Build technology roadmap for basis initiatives and improvement action plans to provide sustainable SAP platform.
Coordination and interactions with Infrastructure team (T-Systems) and any stakeholders of projects related with SAP Basis Maintenance tasks, like SAP upgrades, System Refreshes, and any other activities related with implementations which requires SAP Basis expertise.
Develop expertise on SAP technologies and procedure, review system performance statistics, perform configuration modifications and fixes.
Review complex problem situations and identify preventive measures / improvements to processes, procedures or tools, and implement these as required. Follow-up RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all operational security and emergency procedures.
Ensure a way to solve security issues in SAP Landscape.
Creation, planning and modification of cutover activities for Upgrades, Refreshes, and basis platform tasks.
Configure and define archiving objects in SAP system.
Maintenance of Central SAP Logon entries, certificates, SSO and Webdispatcher to be sure the users can connect to the environments securely.
Ensure documentation of the whole team is available and updated, updating every time is needed.
Coordinate Tasks to manage EWA or SAP recommendations to have the system updated and secure.
Analyse SAP Security Notes monthly and coordinate with development and Integration Team the implementations.
Develop expertise on administration for SAP HANA, S/4, BW4
HANA 2.0, BO, BTP, PI/PO, BO Data Services, SAP Solution Manager, Cloud ALM.
SAP BTP Management, Cloud integration with ERP landscape, Security management, artifacts management, updates and deployments of SAP BTP Services.
Qualifications
10+ years work experience on SAP Basis, including similar technical platform management activities.
Required Skills
Knowledgeable in SAP BASIS and platform management.
Knowledgeable in SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP Cloud Connector.
General expertise in IT infrastructure technologies (SQL, Hana, Oracle DB, Servers, OS…) and Cloud services (AWS, Azure).
Deep Knowledge in SAP performance optimization and parametrization (Basis, Hana, SQL statements, etc.).
Significant experience with integration technologies (ALE/RFC/Idocs, PI/PO, Web Services, OData, Tibco, Informatica, …).
Significant experience in IT service management and tools (ITIL, Service Now, Solution Manager).
Experience in Project Management, involving Agile and Digital methodologies.
Ability to manage multiple and parallel SAP platform life cycles.
At ease with Microsoft Office tools, and in general with IS tools.
Can communicate solutions, ideas, suggestions to a variety of stakeholders effectively and comprehensibly.
Deep understanding of Application and technology Architecture.
Knowledge of technological trends.
Solid technology expertise in SAP technology and integrated tools.
Proven successful experience in SAP ERP production (S4/Hana), related landscape and lifecycle (migration, new module implementation…).
Conceptual and analytical thinking – ability to extract, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements or strategies.
