The   Transition Project Manager   is responsible for planning and executing   complex IT service transitions   , primarily involving the migration of applications, infrastructure, or service scope from   one supplier/vendor to another   within a large, global enterprise environment.
This role is critical in ensuring   service continuity, operational stability, and knowledge transfer   during supplier transitions and early-life support phases. The role requires a   seasoned project manager   with strong judgement, credibility with senior stakeholders, and hands-on experience managing   large-scale transitions, IT transformations, and application rationalization initiatives   .
The Transition Project Manager operates in a   multi-vendor, global delivery model   , working closely with internal IT, business stakeholders, outgoing and incoming suppliers, and program governance teams to deliver transitions   on time, within scope, and with minimized risk   .

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transition & Project Management
Lead end-to-end   IT service transition   s from incumbent vendors to new service providers across applications, platforms, or infrastructure towers
Develop and maintain   detailed transition plan   s, including scope, milestones, dependencies, cutover strategy, knowledge transfer, and hypercare
Coordinate transition activities across   multiple supplier   s, ensuring clear ownership, sequencing, and accountability
Manage transition risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, ensuring proactive mitigation and escalation where required
Ensure full alignment between   contractual scope, RFP commitments, and operational readines   s
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary orchestration point between   outgoing vendors, incoming vendors, and internal IT team   s
Challenge providers where assumptions, staffing, or timelines present delivery or continuity risks
Ensure suppliers adhere to agreed   transition methodologies, deliverables, and exit obligation   s
Build strong working relationships with global stakeholders across IT, security, infrastructure, and application domains
IT Transformation & Application Rationalization Support
Support broader   IT transformation program   s, including operating model change, service standardization, and global delivery transitions
Contribute to   application rationalization and scope normalizatio   n efforts to ensure consistent, comparable transition approaches
Ensure transition planning considers   future-state delivery model   s, not just like-for-like transfer
Governance, Reporting & Assurance
Establish and run transition governance forums, including status reviews, risk reviews, and readiness checkpoints
Provide   clear, concise reportin   g to program leadership on transition health, readiness, and residual risks
Support Steer Co and senior leadership updates with fact-based insights and recommendations
Ensure compliance with internal PMO, risk, and delivery governance standards

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct line management responsibility
Acts as   a matrix le   ad, coordinating work across internal teams and multiple external suppliers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business (or equivalent experience
Experience
8–12 y   ears overall experience in IT project or program management
5+ y   ears of direct experience manag   ing IT transit   ions, including supplier/vendor changes
