Roles & Responsibilities
1. Automation & Scripting Expertise
Strong hands-on experience in Python scripting (mandatory)
Experience with Automation frameworks (Robot Framework, PyTest, etc.)
Ability to develop and maintain scalable, reusable test scripts
2. Transport Network Knowledge
Strong understanding of Optical transport (DWDM/CWDM basics)
Fibre network fundamentals
IP/MPLS networking concepts
Ability to Automate testing across multi-layer transport environments
3. Test Automation Frameworks
Experience in:
Designing and implementing automation frameworks
Ability to Automate:
Functional testing Regression testing E2E validation
Knowledge of:
Data-driven and modular test design
4. API & System Integration Testing
Experience with : REST API testing and automation
Ability to Validate:
Network systems OSS/BSS integrations
Familiarity with: API testing tools (Postman, REST clients)
5. CI/CD & Dev Ops Integration
Experience integrating automation with: CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, etc.)
Ability to:
Enable continuous testing in deployment pipelines
Understanding of:
Version control and release workflows
6. Data Handling & Analytics
Ability to:
Process and analyse:
Test results and network performance data
Experience with :
Parsing logs and OTDR test outputs (preferred)
Basic database/query skills: SQL (preferred)
7. Test Design & Validation
Strong experience in:
Test case design and automation conversion
Ability to Validate:
Network services Transport paths
Support:
Test planning and coverage improvement
8. Performance & Fault Automation
Ability to Automate:
Performance testing (latency, throughput)
Fault simulation (failover scenarios)
Experience in:
Identifying anomalies via automated scripts
9. Tools & Lab Automation
Familiarity with:
Network testing tools and lab environments
Ability to Automate:
Testbed setup
Environment configuration
Experience in:
Virtualised or lab-based testing setups
10. Functional Competencies
Strong analytical and automation-first mindset
Ability to:
Reduce manual effort through test automation
