We are looking for an experienced DB2 DBA (z/OS) to manage and support enterprise-grade database environments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in DB2 administration, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and database infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Install, configure, and maintain DB2 databases on z/OS .
✅ Manage database infrastructure, including instances, partitions, and clusters.
✅ Design and implement High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) solutions, clustering, and replication.
✅ Perform database upgrades, fix packs, patch management, and version migrations.
✅ Monitor database performance and optimize system resources for maximum efficiency.
✅ Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
✅ Troubleshoot complex database and system-level issues, performing root cause analysis.
✅ Optimize memory, CPU, I/O, storage, and database configurations.
✅ Collaborate with infrastructure teams for capacity planning and hardware sizing.
✅ Automate DBA activities using scripting tools such as Shell, Python, or Perl .
✅ Implement and maintain database security, including authentication, authorization, and auditing.
✅ Support production environments and participate in on-call support as required.
✅ Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.
Required Skills:
Strong experience with DB2 Database Administration on z/OS
Expertise in database performance tuning and monitoring
Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
Knowledge of HADR, clustering, and replication technologies
Scripting experience with Shell, Python, or Perl
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Understanding of database security and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in large enterprise production environments
Exposure to capacity planning and infrastructure management
Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical support environment
