A&A Staff-Data Ingestion & Analysis
Role
Summary:
The Data Ingestion & Analysis Analyst is responsible for supporting Assurance engagement teams through the extraction, transformation, validation, ingestion, and analysis of client financial data. This role plays a critical part in ensuring data quality and enabling engagement teams to leverage analytics platforms such as Mind Bridge, Validis, Case Ware.
The ideal candidate combines strong data management and analytical skills with a working knowledge of accounting and auditing processes. They will work closely with engagement teams, clients, and Data COE members to streamline data workflows, improve efficiency through automation, and deliver audit-ready datasets.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Extraction
Coordinate with audit teams and clients to understand data requirements.
Extraction of data from ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, Oracle).
Extraction of transactional or operational data from client - specific tools.
Validate completeness and accuracy of source data received.
Data Transformation & Preparation
Cleanse, standardize, and transform data for audit and analytics purposes.
Develop reusable templates and workflows using:
Excel, Power Query, VBA, Python, Team Mate Analytics.
Handle data anomalies, missing values, duplicate records, and formatting issues.
Create and maintain data mapping documentation.
Data Ingestion Support
Prepare and upload data into audit analytics platforms including:
Mind Bridge, Validis, Case Ware.
Map customer data fields to platform requirements.
Troubleshoot ingestion failures and reconciliation issues.
Perform validation procedures to ensure imported data matches source records
Reporting & Visualization
Creating dashboards and reports in tools like Mind Bridge, Power BI or Excel.
Provide ad hoc analytical support to engagement teams and leadership.
Automation & Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation.
Develop and enhance data-processing workflows.
Help maintain Data COE standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Assurance practice.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Liaise with audit teams to clarify data requirements and timelines.
Provide technical support to clients during data extraction and upload.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive data transformation tasks.
Contribute to refining ingestion templates and SOPs.
Stay updated on new features in audit tools and ERP systems.
Tools & Technologies used
Data Analytics Platforms - Excel (VBA, Power Query, Power Pivot, Team Mate Analytics), Python.
Audit Analytics Platforms - Caseware, Validis, Mind Bridge.
Visualization Tools - Power Bi.
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proficiency in Data cleansing and transformation techniques.
3–5 years of experience with strong Excel/Power Query skills, basic accounting knowledge, and an aptitude for automation (Python/Power BI) .
Familiarity with audit platforms (Validis, Mind Bridge, Caseware) is a plus.
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Good communication and client-handling abilities
