AM/DM – Plastic Procurement

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plastic Procurement professional responsible for sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, and supply continuity of plastic raw materials and components. The role requires strong negotiation skills, market knowledge of polymers/resins, and experience managing procurement operations in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Buy Plastic Molding/Extrusion Items / Printing stationary and consumables
- Handling all commercial activities related to purchase function
- Planning monthly requirement of the Plastic Commodity, Sticker/Manual parts
- New part development
- Cost down initiatives
- Manage day to day interactions with vendors for delivery related issues and serve as the central point of contact for all supplier related issues.
- Ensure quality, timely delivery & cost-effective procurement
- To ensure, continuous production activities by uninterrupted supply of material
- Manage end-to-end procurement of plastic raw materials (resins, polymers, granules) and plastic components.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve cost efficiency.
- Monitor market trends, raw material price fluctuations, and supply risks.
- Coordinate with production, planning, quality, and finance teams for procurement planning.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering opportunities.
- Maintain procurement documentation, MIS reports, and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Required
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Materials Management / Business Administration or related field.
- 8–10 years of procurement experience with strong exposure to plastic raw materials/components.
- Knowledge of polymer grades, injection molding materials, and plastic manufacturing processes preferred.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle or similar).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
