DGM- Manufacturing Operations
Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are looking for a seasoned manufacturing operations professional to join our Corporate Office as DGM – Manufacturing Operations. This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of plant execution and corporate oversight — the incumbent will be the critical link between our factory floors and leadership, translating on-ground production, engineering, utility, and ETP performance into actionable insights, governance, and strategic direction for the Manufacturing Head.
This role is ideal for someone who has grown through hands-on plant leadership and is now ready to operate at a multi-site, strategic level — driving consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across the manufacturing network without being tied to a single location.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Plant Oversight:
● Act as the corporate anchor for Production, Utility, Engineering, and ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) functions across all manufacturing units.
● Partner closely with factory-level stakeholders (Plant Heads, Production Managers, Engineering & Utility Leads, EHS teams) to gather performance data, track KPIs, and understand ground realities.
Reporting & MIS:
● Consolidate and analyze production output, utility consumption, engineering downtime, and ETP compliance data from multiple plants into structured reports for the Manufacturing Head.
● Build and maintain dashboards/MIS systems that give leadership real-time visibility into plant performance, bottlenecks, and risks.
● Flag deviations, trends, and improvement opportunities proactively — not just report numbers but interpret them.
Operational Governance:
● Drive standardization of processes, SOPs, and best practices across factories in production, utility management, engineering maintenance, and effluent treatment.
● Support root-cause analysis and corrective action tracking for recurring production, utility, or
ETP-related issues.
● Monitor regulatory and environmental compliance (especially ETP/effluent norms) across sites and escalate risks promptly.
Strategic Support to Manufacturing Head:
● Prepare data-backed presentations, reviews, and business cases to support capacity planning, capex decisions, and operational strategy.
● Coordinate cross-site projects — capacity expansion, engineering upgrades, utility optimization, ETP modernization — from a corporate vantage point.
● Represent the Manufacturing Head in plant reviews, audits, and stakeholder meetings as required.
Stakeholder Management:
● Build strong working relationships with plant leadership teams to ensure timely, accurate, and complete information flow.
● Bridge the gap between corporate expectations and plant execution realities, ensuring alignment on priorities.
Experience:
● 15-20 years of progressive experience in manufacturing/plant operations with API & Excipient plant experience would be preferred.
● Demonstrated exposure across Production, Utility, Engineering, and ETP functions either through direct ownership or close cross-functional collaboration.
● Prior experience working with or reporting into corporate/HO functions is a strong plus.
Education:
● B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, or master’s in science specifically in Organic or Chemical production from a reputed university. (Master's/MBA preferred but not mandatory).
Skills &
Competencies:
● Strong analytical ability comfortable working with plant data, KPIs, and building reports/dashboards that drive decisions.
● Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to work with and influence plant teams without direct line authority.
● Sound understanding of manufacturing compliance, EHS, and effluent treatment norms.
● Strong communication and presentation skills able to distill complex plant issues into clear, leadership-ready narratives.
● High ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently in a corporate, multi-site oversight role.
Why This Role:
This position offers the rare opportunity to influence manufacturing outcomes at a network level shaping how Production, Utility, Engineering, and ETP functions perform across the organization, while working directly with senior leadership. It's a natural next step…
