MIHM is an interdisciplinary research centre at ISB that provides insights on healthcare delivery and management to policymakers, public institutions, and corporates to enable the creation of better health systems through integrated elements of research, education and outreach.
Job Purpose
To support research on vaccine cold chain innovation by contributing to data-driven analysis, field research, and modelling to improve last-mile vaccination delivery and assess climate-health linkages.
Job Outline
This role provides an opportunity to work on a high-impact research project examining an Indian-origin healthcare innovation that enhances vaccine delivery in challenging geographies. The position involves supporting analytical, field, and policy-relevant research at the intersection of healthcare, climate, and supply chain optimization. The Research Analyst will work closely with ISB faculty and partners to contribute to research design, data analysis, and dissemination of insights.
Job Specification
Knowledge / Education
Master’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics or Economics.
Exceptional candidates with an undergraduate degree and strong analytical training or relevant work experience may also be considered.
Specific Skills
Strong motivation to work at the intersection of healthcare, climate, and supply chain research.
Ability to independently drive parts of the research process such as data analysis, model development, and stakeholder coordination.
Good understanding of mathematical modelling, disease modelling, econometric analysis, supply chain analysis, and experimental design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving ability, and work ethic.
Mandatory Experience
Minimum 1 year of professional experience in research, consulting, or related analytical work (including internships or research assistantships).
Prior exposure to health systems, climate research, or supply chain analysis preferred.
Key Responsibilities
a. Conduct research on vaccine cold chain innovation focusing on supply chain optimization, climate, and sustainability aspects.
b. Support multiple stages of research including literature review, data gathering, cleaning, exploratory analysis, quality checks, and report preparation.
c. Develop mathematical and econometric models for supply chain and disease modelling.
d. Design and conduct surveys, interviews, and field studies to collect performance data.
e. Liaise with stakeholders such as development agencies and health ministries to access contextual data and insights.
f. Contribute to dissemination of findings through reports, presentations, and research papers.
