Logistics Officer

Role responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end import and export logistics for raw materials, consumables, machinery, and finished goods.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, CHA/custom brokers, transporters, and port authorities for timely shipment clearance and delivery.
- Manage logistics activities under EOU regulations and ensure compliance with Customs, DGFT, GST, and EXIM procedures.
- Maintain and reconcile shipping and customs documents such as Bill of Entry, Shipping Bill, ARE/LUT, re-warehousing certificates, bond registers, and EOU returns.
- Oversee private bonded warehouse activities, inventory movement, and reconciliation with ERP and customs records.
- Handle EPCG-related imports, installation certificates, export obligation documentation, and coordination with DGFT consultants/internal teams.
- Manage freight contracts, vendor performance, transporter coordination, and cost-effective shipment planning.
- Plan and monitor domestic transportation, dispatch schedules, customer deliveries, and inter-unit transfers.
- Update logistics transactions in ERP and generate MIS reports related to freight cost, inventory movement, shipment status, and compliance.
- Drive logistics process improvements, warehouse efficiency, SOP implementation, and freight cost optimization.

Required experience

- 8 to 12 years of experience in logistics, import-export operations, and supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on exposure to EOU operations, EPCG scheme, bonded warehouse procedures, customs compliance, freight forwarding, and domestic transportation.

Required skills

- Strong knowledge of Customs, DGFT, GST, and EXIM regulations.
- Experience in coordinating with freight forwarders, CHAs, shipping lines, and transporters.
- Good understanding of Incoterms and international shipping procedures.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP or similar systems.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, analytical, and coordination skills.

Preferred industry background

Candidates from export-oriented manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, engineering, casting, aerospace, aviation, MRO, or related sectors will be preferred.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certification in Export-Import Management or Supply Chain is preferred.
