Concrete Superintendent-Traveling

Position Overview

As a Kiewit Superintendent, you will be responsible for a variety of field activities in order to execute the construction on our projects. During your first few years you can expect to spend time learning and working on work plans, shop drawings, submittals, 5‑week schedules, craft supervision, and project documentation. While learning and executing these tasks you will have the opportunity to travel the country building complex projects that make a profound impact on communities.

Home base for this position can be in Phoenix, Arizona, but this position will be traveling and working on projects in Idaho Falls and/or Cascade, Idaho. Must be willing to travel where the work is located. You could be assigned to a project in Utah, TX, New Mexico and additional states as our projects begin to unfold in 2026.

• Provide supervisory direction of craft workers through the foreman, managing productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence.
• Liaise between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Kiewit staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
• Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project management as appropriate.
• Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
• Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards in line with company non‑harassment and nondiscrimination policies.

• Minimum 5 years’ work experience overseeing self‑performed concrete work in a heavy civil construction environment.
• Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
