Job Summary

CEI is seeking qualified high school teachers to teach dual credit courses at their high school. Dual Credit Instructors must meet the minimum qualifications used for instructors teaching the same course on campus. Courses follow the college curriculum and provide the same rigor as on-campus classes.

Early College instructors are compensated at a per credit, per student rate.

Typical Job Functions
  • Provide instruction of curriculum aligned with College of Eastern Idaho courses
  • Work with assigned post‑secondary liaison to adhere to NACEP standards for delivery of dual credit curriculum
  • Assessment of student work will be the same in high school as it is  example, discussion will take place between the teacher and CEI's faculty liaison as to what constitutes "A" work, etc.
  • Keep Early College Programs office advised of any issues or changes that may arise
  • Enter grades by deadlines
  • Assist Early College team with course registration for assigned sections
  • Attend annual professional development training at CEI
  • Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in the content/specialty area or a minimum of 12+ master’s level credits in the content/specialty area plus a master’s degree
  • Teaching experience
  • Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn’t sponsor H‑1B Visas)
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. Onsite work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required.

Background Investigations

Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225:
Background Checks.
