- Maintain sensitive customer, confidential and/or proprietary business information responsibly.
- Utilize government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to deliver clear answers to customers.
- Use Smartlook to interact with customers in a virtual, customer‑facing role.
- Provide tax advice, full‑service business return preparation and signature, product/software inquiries, tax calculations, and filing tax extensions.
- Create high‑quality customer interactions that instill confidence using deep empathy and extensive knowledge of business tax preparation and bookkeeping.
- Apply defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer tax advice and return preparation.
- Document customer interactions and work toward meeting company key performance metrics and Big Bet Goals.
- Participate in pilot testing, projects, and experience validations as needed.
- Strong business tax preparation experience and extensive knowledge of tax laws, evidenced by at least 3 years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns for at least 20 clients per season using commercial tax preparation software.
- Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 tax returns per tax year in a retail or practice setting.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, spread across three or more days.
- Bookkeeping experience with books‑to‑tax preparation strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers strongly preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain any related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
- Must possess an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- Working knowledge of Circular 230.
- Proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations and software.
- Strong customer service skills – ability to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a professional, friendly, and confident manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving, research skills, and determination.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Must have (or be willing to obtain) internet connection that meets Intuit Security criteria.
- Must reside in the United States.
This position offers a base pay range that varies by location. Example ranges include:
Bay Area, California $31.10 – $35.50;
Southern California $31.10 – $35.50;
Colorado $29.60 – $34.10;
Hawaii $31.10 – $35.50;
Illinois $29.60 – $34.10;
Maryland $29.60 – $34.10;
Massachusetts $31.10 – $35.50;
Minnesota $26.60 – $33.80;
New Jersey $31.10 – $35.50;
New York $31.10 – $35.50;
Ohio $26.60 – $33.80;
Vermont $29.60 – $34.10;
Washington $31.10 – $35.50;
Washington, DC $29.60 – $34.10. The position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits in accordance with Intuit plans and programs, and may include equity and cash bonus opportunities. Pay is based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
