Mountain View Hospital is looking for an Admissions/Scheduling Clerk to join our team.

Accurately schedule patients based on referrals. Arrange efficient and orderly admissions to the clinic. Collect and enter patient information accurately. Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Maintain a 95% accuracy rate quarterly on all admissions into Cerner.

• Schedule patients to be seen in the office.
• Obtain appropriate histories, prior diagnostic tests results, and other necessary information.
• Verify referrals are in place.
• Obtain signature on Condition of Admission forms.
• Gather correct insurance information.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and physicians.
• Check for cancellations daily through reminder call.
• Schedule return appointments and procedures.
• Prepare charts/paperwork/consents for following day’s patients.
• Assist with referral management and surgery scheduling.
• Receive patient payments or co-payments, post transactions, and manage money drawer.
• Comply with PCI standards and company payment card policies.
• Maintain office records, reports, and files.
• Know office policies and available services.
• Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and stress-resilience.
• Treat patients and families with respect and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain good relationships within the office and with outside contacts.
• Participate in educational programs and complete annual requirements.
  
  Attend all required meetings.
• Maintain accurate time clock punches and a quarterly 95% accuracy rate.

Education/Certification: High School Diploma or higher. Current BLS Certification.

Experience: Minimum of three months related experience. Medical Terminology preferable.

Equipment/Technology: Proficiency with hospital information system, EMR, and basic computer functions.

Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents, communicate effectively to patients, referring offices, and diagnostic facilities.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute ratios and percentages.

Mental Capabilities: Apply common sense to instructions, solve problems.

Interpersonal: Team player.
