Outpatient Coding Resolution Specialist – HCA Healthcare
Hourly Wage Estimate: $21.87 - $32.81 per hour

As a work‑from‑home Outpatient Coder, you will resolve outpatient coding related alerts/edits for same‑day surgery, observation, wound care, emergency department, and diagnostic areas primarily post initial/final coding.
Responsibilities- Compile daily work list from eRequest, CRT and other alert/edit systems
- Enter detailed notes into eRequest to provide resolution details or reroute for research
- Escalate alert/edit resolution issues to minimize billing delays
- Monitor aging of accounts, prioritize aged accounts, and report to leadership
- Work with billing, revenue integrity, and Medicare Service Center to resolve alerts/edits
- Communicate coding revisions to applicable parties
- Complete mock abstracts as needed (combining codes for outpatient claims within payment window)
- Assist Coding Leads and Managers in resolving unbilled reason codes (URC)/hold reasons
- Perform Coding Integrity Specialist II duties as needed
- Periodically review work accomplishments and discuss progress and training needs with Manager
- Undergraduate (associate or bachelor’s) degree in HIM/HIT preferred
- 2+ years of acute care, observation and/or same‑day surgery outpatient coding experience
- RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS preferred
