Job Summary and Qualifications

As an EKG Technician you will be responsible for obtaining electrocardiograms used to diagnose abnormalities of the heart by attaching electrodes and operating electrocardiographic equipment. Join us in our efforts to better our community! In this role:

  • You will appropriately prepare patient for Cardiac Stress test to ensure proper test results and clearly explaining test procedures.
  • You will follow established surveillance, prevention, and control of infection policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection by use of personal protective measures.
  • You will always ensure that equipment is clean and in proper working condition. If equipment malfunctions are identified, the director is notified immediately.
  • You will accurately obtain a resting 12 lead electrocardiogram by properly pre‑ppling and placing lead electrodes on patient’s limbs and chest.

What qualifications you will need:

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • Incumbent may receive EKG training on the job – experience preferred.
