Job Summary

In this position, you will provide legal counsel to key leadership, focusing on privacy, litigation, and transactional matters. The AGC proactively engages with business clients to understand strategic objectives, collaborates with internal partners, works independently on significant matters, and leads efforts to resolve sophisticated issues. This role supervises one other attorney.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clear, practical, and actionable privacy advice across the enterprise.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with teams and stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Partner with senior leaders and become a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Identify and lead existing and emerging risks stemming from business activities.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, assessed, supervised, and controlled.
  • Follow written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Independently provide legal counsel to senior leadership to support business objectives and lead regulatory, compliance, and litigation risk.
  • Lead sophisticated legal assignments with a high level of business impact and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Effectively communicate with partners and leaders in both verbal and written forms.
  • Produce clear and concise legal positions on highly complex issues.
  • Proactively analyze changes in laws, regulations, and industry and advise leadership in a timely manner.
  • Anticipate potential future legal and operational issues that present a risk and engage others to identify solutions.
  • Provide leadership through cross‑functional projects with a material impact.
  • Effectively lead outside counsel to acquire legal advice.
  • Coordinate with the General Counsel on periodic reporting of results, budgets, forecasts, exposure analysis, and strategies.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts to memorialize deals.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience as a lawyer at a top‑tier law firm or in‑house legal department.
  • Excellent time management, analysis, and advising skills.
  • Ability to succinctly summarize recommendations and tailor communications by audience.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
  • Ability to provide practical, business‑focused legal advice on contractual, regulatory, and general corporate matters.
  • Ability to identify and assess legal risks, propose mitigation strategies, and support cross‑functional teams in resolving issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with emerging technology and e‑commerce preferred.
  • Knowledge of privacy laws and experience advising on privacy risk preferred.
