Position Overview

Responsibilities
  • Give leadership to the effective staffing, organization, development, and implementation of Scoutreach operations.
  • Analyze and deploy the staff resources necessary to align and accomplish the council’s strategic objectives for quality program delivery.
  • Recruit and lead the volunteer Scoutreach Committee to maximize their efforts and better serve the Mountain West Council’s program offering and membership development.
  • Become an expert on neighborhoods in geographic communities so that we may better serve low-income youth and diverse populations.
  • Create and leverage strategic partnerships with outside organizations that deliver maximum value to the Mountain West Council.
  • Help the council build a game plan for reaching more youth with disabilities.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts to ensure that Scoutreach is visible in the Council through multiple channels in ways that excite supporters, volunteers, and families.
  • Support the efficient use of Scouting dollars so the Council makes the most efficient spread of contributed dollars to maximize service to children.
  • Identify and participate in opportunities to promote mission and services in the community at events, including volunteer fairs, service & church events, business, and civic group presentations.
  • Seek opportunities to expand by identifying potential new chartered partners in targeted areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or work-life experience.
Qualifications
  • An energetic interest in service that permeates through personality, thinking, building relationships, interacting with stakeholders, storytelling, and implementing strategy.
  • Ability to tailor communications that effectively connect with diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities; ability to navigate complex situations, helping to resolve ambiguity and inspire colleagues to their best performance.
  • Outstanding communication skills. Good listener who includes and engages others and can modify his/her approach to the audience; superior written and oral communications; adept at public speaking.
  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Must be registered as an adult leader, submit a Scouting America Application, complete Youth Protection Training, pass a Criminal Background Check.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Benefits

Starting Salary: $42k-44k
