Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an  compact RN license and 1 year of recent specialty experience.

• Active RN license ( compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg specialty required
• Exceptional communication and time management skills required
• Must maintain minimum 98% safe medication scanning and administration rate
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Flexibility to work days or nights preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• 39-bed Med/Surg unit (Med/Onc floor) within a hospital setting
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, and 1 unit secretary; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, and 2 CNAs
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on day shift and 1:6 on night shift
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Arjo lifts, and Novastat equipment with computers in every patient room
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Floating required to Surg/Ortho and Rehab units
• Works two weekends per month
• On-call only during low volume periods
• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit within a team-oriented, friendly environment
• Navy blue scrub attire required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
