Overview

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in all day-to-day operations essential to store operation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform management duties as assigned or in the Store Manager's absence.
  • Assist in directing and prioritizing work of store personnel.
  • Motivate, encourage, and effectively challenge employees.
  • Assist Store Manager with recruiting, hiring and training store employees.
  • Assume responsibilities to ensure all employees deliver excellent customer service.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely, professional manner.
  • Enforce daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked and organized.
  • Prepare food & drinks.
  • Maintain a safe work environment including performing loss prevention duties.
  • Properly clean and maintain equipment.
  • Assure proper sale and accounting for all products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Requirements
  • Must be age 19 years or older in order to sell tobacco and alcohol.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Positive outgoing personality and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate an electronic cash register and computer and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
  • Proficient verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor climates and in-store cooler environments.
  • Physical ability to complete required duties, including standing, lifting, bending, reaching, and walking.
