Applications are invited for the full‑time continuing position of Consultant:
Inclusive Education, for commencement as soon as able.
The successful applicant will provide practical, evidence‑informed support for teachers and learning support teams as they develop and refine knowledge and skills that enable them to meet the diverse learning needs of students. The applicant will help school communities enact and embrace inclusion, facilitate professional learning, and provide advice on contemporary best practice. In addition, the role will provide strategic support for system‑wide initiatives aimed at constantly refining and improving the educational experience offered in our schools.
The role is based in Mackay and presents an opportunity to influence inclusive practices across Catholic Education, P‑12.
Typical Duties- Work collaboratively with leaders, teachers, students, families and the Inclusive Education team to shape student‑centred responses that promote inclusion and genuine access to education.
- Provide guidance and advice to schools on differentiating to meet diverse learning needs.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement through design and implementation of streamlined and effective practices, systems, and processes related to NCCD, EAL/D, and students in out‑of‑home care.
- An understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic Education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- The ability to work well either individually or collaboratively as part of a team, and to accept direction and support.
- The ability to adapt and be flexible within a dynamic educational setting.
- An inclusive education tertiary qualification is desirable, with appropriate experience or equivalent knowledge, qualifications, and experience relevant to this role.
- Competitive salary range $137,553 to $152,836 (pending experience) + 12.75% superannuation paid as per the Catholic Education Executive Salary Scale.
