This role provides support to the Special Education Teacher and/or Classroom Teacher, Principal and/or Special Education Director. The paraprofessional assists the teacher in achieving the goals and objectives stated on each child s current Individual Education Plan (IEP) through individual, small group, or whole group instruction.

• Assist the Special Education Teacher with implementing IEP goals and instructional plans.
• Provide support in individual, small group, and whole group settings as directed.
• Work with students who have emotional, physical, and mental disabilities.
• Instruct students one-on-one and in small groups under the direction of the Special Education Teacher.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students.
• Coordinate with staff to support classroom activities and school procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent and thirty-two college credits, or ability to pass the Paraprofessional Praxis exam.
• Previous aide or teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to work with students with emotional, physical, and mental disabilities.
• Ability to work with students one-on-one and in small groups.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students.
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds.
• Selected applicant must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
