As a Realtime Defect Analysis (RDA) ID1 Quality Engineer at Micron, you will use next‑generation defect detection equipment and processes to identify, trend and solve defect issues. The goal of this position is to develop and implement quality control systems and standards for the RDA/Metrology department. This role is critical in driving global quality standards, enabling advanced memory technology, and ensuring operational excellence across high‑volume manufacturing (HVM) sites worldwide.

As a technical leader, you will design and implement quality control frameworks, establish best‑known methods (BKMs), and develop innovative solutions that enhance defect detection and process stability. Your contributions will directly influence Micron’s global manufacturing network and accelerate technology transfer for next‑generation products. We need engineers who are passionate about developing their team and delivering solutions to our internal customers.

This position will provide the opportunity for you to collaborate with overseas HVM sites, process integration, process development, data science, and yield analysis within and outside HVM. As a ID1 RDA quality engineer, your innovation will have the ability to impact the team globally.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement global quality systems for RDA and Metrology, ensuring compliance with industry‑leading standards.
  • Define strategic roadmaps for defect detection and metrology, enabling future technology scaling.
  • Lead cross‑functional collaboration with global HVM sites, process integration, data science, and yield engineering teams to drive alignment and continuous improvement.
  • Establish advanced monitoring and analytics frameworks for defect trends, excursion mitigation, and process health metrics.
  • Champion innovation and process optimization, leveraging data‑driven methodologies to improve detection accuracy and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Drive global best practices through audits, risk assessments (FMEA), systematic improvement programs, MMM, sampling strategies.
  • This position offers the opportunity to shape Micron’s global quality strategy, influence advanced memory technology development, and lead initiatives that ensure world‑class manufacturing standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field OR Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, RDA, or metrology within a 300mm fabrication environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex quality programs and collaborate across global teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data analytics, scripting, or programming for process optimization.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills with a track record of driving change in high‑tech environments.
  • Familiarity with advanced metrology and defect detection methodologies.
  • We need an engineer drawn to creative problem solving and innovative solutions
  • We need someone who is willing to investigate process anomalies, root cause analysis, data manipulation, and correlations
