About the Opportunity
Join a growth-minded owner’s-rep team delivering critical tailings infrastructure that supports a major mine restart. You will lead field execution for mechanical and piping scopes across a high-visibility Tailings Storage Facility program. Expect real influence on schedule, cost, and safety outcomes, plus the backing and resources to do the job right.
What You Will Do
- Lead field construction for tailings piping and mechanical systems, including HDPE and steel pipe, valves, tanks, pump stations, and variable frequency drives.
- Direct fusion welding, hydrostatic testing, flushing, and pre-commissioning to meet quality and schedule targets.
- Interpret issued-for-construction drawings, isometrics, and vendor packages to confirm compliance and constructability.
- Sequence work with civil and electrical teams, coordinate interfaces, and keep work fronts ready.
- Track contractor productivity against look ahead plans and milestones, recommend recovery actions when needed.
- Champion environmental and safety controls for tailings containment, including leak detection and spill prevention.
- Lead inspections, punch-list walks, and turnover documentation for mechanical completions.
- Troubleshoot field issues, drive mitigation plans, and close action items with accountability.
- Align contractors, owner representatives, and engineering consultants on scope, changes, and priorities.
- Deliver TSF mechanical systems safely, on budget, and on schedule.
What You Bring
- 10 or more years in mechanical or piping construction for mining, industrial, water, or similar projects, TSF or slurry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated oversight of HDPE fusion, QA and QC, pressure testing, and commissioning readiness.
- Proficiency reading and redlining mechanical drawings and isometrics.
- Experience with pump stations and associated control equipment.
- Background as an owner’s-rep and familiarity with document control tools are assets.
- Additional fluency in French or Spanish is considered an asset.
