Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders/prescriptions.

• Prepare, compound, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
• Perform clerical duties related to the department.
• Assist pharmacist in retail and/or hospital pharmacy operations.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Verify stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Perform a variety of tasks and other related duties as assigned.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the pharmacy field.
• Plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgment.
• Meet age‑specific needs of the patients served.
• Follow hospital exposure control plans and blood‑borne and airborne pathogen protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times; follow HIPAA regulations and policies.
• Attend regularly and predictably; communicate with co‑workers in person, in writing, and on telephone.

• Entry level experience in pharmacy technology or related field.
• Full‑time availability.
• Knowledge of standard pharmacy concepts, practices, and procedures.
