Essential Job Functions- Follow hospital exposure control plans and handle blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Maintain confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times; follow HIPAA regulations and policies.
- Report to work on time and meet acceptable standard for attendance.
- Coordinate and manage all radiology scheduling; confirm complete orders, required documentation, and correct exam protocols prior to scheduling.
- Communicate with providers, clinics, and patients to support accurate scheduling and reduce delays.
- Track and monitor patient movement and exam status to support timely workflow.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Verify insurance benefits prior to scheduling to support accurate authorization preparation.
- Forward complete information to the authorization team and assist with authorizations as needed.
- Communicate basic financial and insurance information to patients.
- Support accurate preparation of Good Faith Estimates for self-pay patients.
- Ensure patient demographics, insurance details, and required documentation are entered and maintained accurately.
- Process incoming referrals and orders; track, verify, and reconcile information for accuracy.
- Scan and upload documents into the electronic health record to support Medical Records.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure complete patient information is available for scheduling, billing, and clinical care.
- Serve as a communication resource for Radiology regarding patient location, exam status, and workflow activities.
- Coordinate communication with external clinics, partner facilities, and providers.
- Support departmental initiatives, projects, and process improvements.
- Attend relevant meetings and maintain up-to-date knowledge on workflow changes and imaging protocols.
- Provide administrative support to assist operations across Radiology and collaborating departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two years of experience in a healthcare administrative role such as Health Unit Coordinator, Imaging Scheduler, Administrative Assistant, Outpatient Service Coordinator, or equivalent education/experience.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA standards, and electronic health record systems preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification, scheduling, authorizations, or patient access processes preferred.
- Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
