The 61st Street Service Corporation, provides administrative and clinical support staff for Columbia Doctors
. This position will support Columbia Doctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. Columbia Doctors’ practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties.

Under the supervision of the Department Supervisor, uses equipment to create images using high frequency sound waves into specific areas of the patient's body to obtain cardiovascular diagnostic information. This is a professional position with no supervisory responsibility. Incumbents under this title perform similar but not identical duties.

• Localize and recognize differences between healthy and pathological areas to evaluate for factors such as position, obstruction or change in shape.
• Judge if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Perform ultrasound examinations.
• Record, file and edit results of sonograms.
• Maintain logs of ultrasound exams.
• Explain procedure to patient, record medical history, and prepare patients for testing.
• Assist physicians with patient care.
• 3-D capture, analysis, offline measurements and quantification of Aortic and Mitral Valves.
• Advanced analysis and quantification of Aortic and Mitral Valves, 2-D & 3-D, to calculate ERO.
• Extensive calculation of hemodynamic parameters and left ventricular dimensions.
• Performs other and related duties as required.

• High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
• Two years of college or graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program required.
• 0
  -2 years of experience in Diagnostic Ultrasound, including clinical rotations.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDCS or RCS) required.
