Executive Director
Reporting to the Board of Directors
Driggs,
Friends of the Teton River (FTR), a nationally recognized conservation organization dedicated to restoring and protecting the Teton River watershed in eastern Idaho, seeks a collaborative and visionary Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter.
For more than two decades, FTR has combined sound science, community engagement, and partnerships with landowners, agencies, and conservation organizations to advance its mission of ensuring a lasting legacy of clean water, healthy streams, and a thriving wild fishery. The organization now stands at an exciting juncture—poised to expand its impact as regional growth and changing water use intensify the need for innovative, community-based conservation.
The Executive Director will serve as FTR’s senior leader, guiding a skilled staff and engaged Board of Directors to strengthen the organization’s role as a trusted leader in watershed health. The ED will provide strategic vision, ensure financial sustainability, and deepen partnerships across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Key priorities include expanding restoration and research programs, growing financial resources, and elevating awareness of the Teton River’s ecological and community importance.
The Board seeks an accomplished, mission-driven leader with experience in nonprofit or conservation management, fundraising, and partnership-building. The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity, collaborative leadership, and a passion for protecting water and natural resources.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a strong, science-based organization with deep community roots and a powerful mission—to protect and conserve the Teton River watershed for generations to come.
The compensation range for this position annually is $110,000 – $135,000. A generous benefits package is offered including health insurance, Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Reimbursement Account, cell phone reimbursement, a ski pass benefit at Grand Targhee Resort, a sabbatical program after seven years of continuous service, and a Simple IRA retirement plan with up to 3% match.
If you want to play a key role in this dynamic organization, please confidentially submit a current resume and cover letter to Kittleman & Associates. The cover letter is an opportunity to showcase your passion for FTR’s purpose, mission, core values and beliefs, and demonstrate your organizational impact in current or prior roles.
