American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a small community hospital, requiring 2 years of experience and the ability to float to Med Surg.
Requirements- Active RN license (State or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, FHM, NRP, and STABLE
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience drawing venous blood and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs, and using infusion pumps/drips
- Two professional references in specialty required
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Community hospital, teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Small community hospital with 30-40 births per year
- Labor and Delivery unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Required to float to Med Surg with a 1:3-5 patient ratio
- Every other weekend required
- Call requirements apply
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Manage high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, preterm labor, and VBAC/trial of labor
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Support breastfeeding and lactation, and provide postpartum recovery care including C-section recovery
- Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC placement and calibration
- Candidates with prior employment at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
- First-time travelers not considered for this role
