Position Purpose Summary

The Transportation Information Systems (TIS) Administrator is fully proficient to manage transportation payment issues with limited supervision. Responsible for managing TMT POs and ROs including processing invoices, resolving payment issues, and working with vendors and customers (internal and external) to monitor payment processing by Trucking systems. Processes daily fuel in multiple systems as well as the interfaces to the corporate accounting system.

Processes Transportation freight invoices in the Freitrater system.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Monitors and maintains Trucking and Transportation systems daily including TMT and CT Freitrater.
  • Receives and processes vendor invoices from various Trucking locations within the TMT system. Works with Trucking locations to keep accurate and current PO and RO status. Follows up with vendors and locations to receive aged invoices.
  • Processes Transportation vendor invoices into CT Freitrater system (manually and electronically). Reviews invoices received against rates in system. Researches and resolves any rate discrepancies. Works to pay balance dues or process credits. Answers vendor queries on payment issues.
  • Import daily fuel files to TMT and TMW systems.
  • Runs daily interfaces from TMT to Oracle accounting system.
  • Coordinates with Trucking and corporate accounts payable groups to update and add vendors as needed.
  • Assists Trucking locations, accounting, and IT in troubleshooting TMT and Freitrater system issues.
  • Provides back up for key duties of other TIS and Trucking team members, including Freitrater rate entry, updating transportation fuel surcharge tables, and monitoring the TIS Help Desk email folders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 2+ years previous work experience in an accounts payable, shipping or general ledger function.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical thinking.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize assignments, and achieve desired results.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills for daily work projects as well as ability to work with paper and electronic files.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying internal and external customer demands in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, carry out written instructions, and adhere to established processes.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting salary range for position: $58,656- $68,748
  • Paid Holidays.

  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
