These posts are rotational in the Acute Hospital (Queens, Romford) and the Community‑based Ageing Well Centre (St George's Wellbeing Hub, Romford).

The post is based within the COE inpatient teams with the following activity split: 25% on‑call commitment to GIM, 40% COE clinical work (inpatient and specialist clinics), and 35% medical education activities (released from clinical work). The activity split may vary across the year, with greater focus on post‑graduate teaching, project work and clinical duties outside undergraduate term‑time, and increased undergraduate teaching during term‑time.

The role requires internal medicine on‑call at SpR level, rotational experience within inpatient teams, community and clinic settings.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate undergraduate teaching within the COE, including bedside teaching, small group activities and other programmes.
  • Deliver educational programmes for new starters to the team, such as IMG and trainee doctors, and early postgraduate colleagues (e.g., foundation doctors).
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Projects (QIP). Have the opportunity to develop and train in a chosen area of special interest in the COE (suggested areas include falls, delirium and community).
Qualifications
  • Full Registration with the GMC

  • Valid ALS
  • Other relevant post‑graduate degrees or diplomas
