Custom House Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team for 6 sessions per week. This is an opportunity to work within a well-established practice serving a diverse population in East London. The role includes clinical assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, reviewing test results and correspondence, and making appropriate referrals. The post holder will participate in the Duty GP rota on a rotational basis, supporting urgent same-day demand and providing clinical advice to colleagues when required.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Clinical Pharmacists, Care Coordinators and Social Prescribers, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and accessible healthcare. The role also includes supporting QOF, Enhanced Services, clinical governance, safeguarding and quality improvement activities whilst maintaining professional standards through CPD and appraisal. The Salaried GP will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to the practice population, delivering safe and effective clinical services across a range of settings. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage acute and chronic medical conditions, promote health and wellbeing, contribute to service development and support the delivery of contractual requirements. The role includes routine and urgent clinical care, clinical administration, participation in the Duty GP rota and involvement in quality improvement activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care through face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.
  • Assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of acute, chronic and complex medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement appropriate management and treatment plans.
  • Prescribe safely and effectively in accordance with local and national prescribing guidance.
  • Manage patients with long-term conditions in collaboration with the wider clinical team.
  • Provide preventative healthcare advice and support health promotion initiatives.
  • Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate.
  • Provide care in accordance with GMC standards and evidence-based clinical guidelines.
  • Maintain awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and act in accordance with local policies.
Clinical Administration
  • Review and action pathology results in a timely manner.
  • Process incoming clinical correspondence, hospital letters and discharge summaries.
  • Review and authorise repeat medication requests where appropriate.
  • Complete medical reports, forms and other associated documentation as required.
  • Ensure all clinical records are accurate, comprehensive and contemporaneous.
  • Use EMIS Web effectively and in accordance with information governance requirements.
Duty GP Responsibilities
  • Participate in the practice Duty GP rota.
  • Manage urgent same-day patient demand.
