Head of Drama (QTS)
Outstanding Secondary School | Ilford | Temporary to Permanent | January Start

Are you an inspiring and ambitious Head of Drama ready to lead a thriving department in an exceptional secondary school?
We are seeking a qualified teacher with QTS and a passion for the performing arts to take on the leadership of Drama at our high‑performing, inclusive secondary school in Ilford. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a creative curriculum, nurture talent, and make a lasting impact on students’ lives.

As Head of Drama, you will:

Lead and develop a vibrant Drama department with a strong culture of creativity and high expectations
Design and deliver an engaging, ambitious Drama curriculum at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Inspire students of all abilities to achieve outstanding outcomes and a lifelong love of the arts
Organise and direct school productions, performances, and enrichment opportunities
Support and develop staff through coaching, mentoring, and collaborative planning
Contribute to whole‑school improvement as a valued middle leader

The Ideal Candidate :

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has a strong track record of excellent Drama teaching at secondary level
Demonstrates leadership potential or experience within a Drama or Performing Arts department
Is passionate, creative, and committed to inclusive education
Has high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
Is eager to contribute to the wider life of a thriving school community
