As Head of Sociology, you will:

Lead and develop Sociology across KS4 and KS5, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
Design and deliver a rigorous, engaging curriculum that promotes critical thinking and academic excellence
Drive strong outcomes through effective assessment, intervention, and enrichment
Support and develop colleagues through coaching, collaboration, and shared best practice
Contribute to departmental and whole‑school improvement as a valued middle leader
Promote inclusive practice and a deep understanding of social issues among students
We are looking for someone who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has a strong track record of excellent Sociology teaching at secondary level, particularly at KS5
Demonstrates leadership experience or clear potential to lead a subject area
Is intellectually curious, reflective, and committed to evidence‑informed practice
Has high expectations for student behaviour, engagement, and achievement
Is keen to contribute to the wider academic and pastoral life of the school
