A well-established secondary school in East London is looking to appoint a reliable and resilient Pastoral Support Officer to support students across KS3 and KS4.
This role is ideal for someone who understands that learning doesn't happen until students feel safe, supported, and regulated. You'll work closely with students who need extra guidance around behaviour, attendance, emotional regulation, and day-to-day school life.
The Role
* Provide pastoral and behaviour support to identified students
* Work 1:1 and in small groups to support engagement and wellbeing
* Support students removed from lessons or requiring intervention
* Liaise with Heads of Year, SENCO, DSL, and safeguarding teams
* Support behaviour strategies and reintegration into lessons
* Monitor progress, attendance, and punctuality
* Act as a consistent adult presence for students who need it
Who This Role Suits
* Experience working with secondary-aged students
* Strong behaviour management and calm, confident approach
* Background in education, youth work, SEN, SEMH, or pastoral support
* Able to build relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
* Organised, dependable, and emotionally resilient
School-based experience is preferred, but attitude, consistency, and the ability to connect with young people matter just as much.
What's On Offer
* Long-term, stable role within a supportive school
* Opportunity to work closely with pastoral, SEN, and safeguarding teams
* Clear structure and expectations
* Competitive pay based on experience
* Potential for permanent placement
