A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Ilford is seeking a dedicated and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
Responsibilities- Supporting children within an EYFS classroom in a mainstream primary setting
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Working with two children who are currently non-verbal and require a high level of support
- Managing and monitoring risks associated with a choking hazard, following care plans and school procedures
- Supporting children's communication, social interaction and emotional development
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, preferably within EYFS or primary settings
- Experience working with non-verbal children and/or pupils with complex needs is highly desirable
- Patient, compassionate and proactive approach
- Comfortable supporting children with varying additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for helping every child reach their full potential
- Located in Ilford
- Monday to Friday – 8.15am‑3.15pm
- Contract initially extended on a half-termly basis
- Highly likely to become a long-term placement for the right candidate
