SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH & SEND Provision
Ilford | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | September Start
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?
Teacher Active is proud to be working with a welcoming 3-form entry primary school in Ilford that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a nurturing environment and has experience supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs alongside a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and communication needs.
The Role
Supporting pupils within the school's specialist SEND provision.
Building positive relationships to help pupils feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn.
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to deliver tailored support.
Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation.
Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
Helping create a calm, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
A calm, patient and resilient approach.
Excellent behaviour management skills.
A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
A DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
