Group Accountant – High Needs Block

The London Borough of Redbridge is seeking an experienced Group Accountant – High Needs Block to join its Education & Inclusion Directorate, based at Lynton House, Ilford (hybrid, minimum 2 days per week on-site).

This is a full‑time interim role, 36 hours per week, reporting to the Education Service Business Manager with line management responsibility for up to 4 staff.

Rate: £433.50–£575.00 per day.

22 July 2026.

• Lead budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.
• Financial modelling and scenario planning.
• Support service transformation and business case development.
• Contribute to statutory accounts and external audit requirements.
• Manage and develop the SEND Finance Team.

• CCAB or CIMA qualified (or hold substantial equivalent senior‑level finance experience).
• Significant experience in financial management within a large, complex organisation, including local authority finance, statutory accounting, and the closedown and Statement of Accounts process.
• Strong stakeholder influencing skills and experience managing professional finance teams.
