Job Overview

We have a vacancy for an Advanced Level Pharmacist – Adult Mental Health. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with clinical experience in mental health medicines optimisation to join our expanding pharmacy team.

The role will involve providing and developing patient‑centred clinical pharmacy services within the in‑patient acute wards team as part of the multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will also act as a role model for Junior Pharmacists undertaking their Clinical Diploma, providing support and supervision within the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical pharmacy service and medicines management advice to optimise patient medication regimes and safely identify and manage risks.

• Support the development and delivery of high‑quality, expert clinical pharmacy service to patients and carers in in‑patient and community care settings, in accordance with pharmacy service and national good practice standards.

• Facilitate the management and treatment of patients experiencing an acute mental health illness, reducing admission, facilitating safe discharge, and ensuring safe transition back into primary care.

• Supervise and mentor junior pharmacists, and provide clinical supervision to develop further expertise in adult mental health.

Qualifications

• Non‑medical prescriber essential.

• Clinical experience in mental health medicines optimisation.

• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and provide expert pharmacy and medicines management advice.

• Clinical supervision experience is an advantage.
