Radiographer

Working within a multi-disciplinary team the post-holder will contribute to the safe and effective running of the imaging department and will be able to perform a wide range of x-ray examinations to a high standard. The post holder will be required to rotate through ED and general x-ray, fluoroscopy, and theatres and they will participate in the delivery of a 24/7, 365 service.

The post holder will offer supervision to assistant practitioners, imaging assistants, students/apprentices and visitors to the imaging department. The post holder will ensure patient flow in the trust by actively participating in the the flow of emergency and in-patients to ensure same day imaging. The post holder will be key in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and experience.

The post holder at all time will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and act in accordance with the HCPC standards of proficiency. Furthermore, they are expected to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with other staff members characterized by trust, mutual respect and open, honest communication.

• BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers, or equivalents
• Health and Care Professions Council Registration

• Student Clinical Assessors Course

• Up to date knowledge of general imaging techniques
• Able to work unsupervised
• Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care.
• Understanding of factors affecting service throughput and quality
• Experience of on-call and out of hours roster, Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to cope with work pressures and manage time effectively
• Ability to cope with conflict and complaints at local level commensurate with Trust policies
• Ability to make prompt decisions based on knowledge, experience and circumstances
• Basic computer and keyboard skills.
• Keep all records up to date in a clear, accurate and concise manner on a day-to-day basis
• Self-motivated with an ability to motivate others
• Able to work flexibly based on needs of service.

• Intermediate IT skills.

This band 5 radiographer position will be based at The Royal London Hospital site of Barts Health which is located in the historical, vibrant and diverse east end of London.
