We are currently seeking 2 experienced Senior Social Work Practitioners to join a busy and supportive Children and Families Service on a temporary maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced practitioner to take ownership of complex cases while contributing to service development and improved outcomes for children and families.

🔹 The Role

As a Senior Social Work Practitioner, you will:

* Take responsibility for complex and high-risk cases within Children’s Social Care

* Undertake statutory assessments, care planning and reviews

* Manage Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children cases as required

* Lead on court work and prepare high-quality reports for legal proceedings

* Provide mentoring, guidance and support to less experienced social workers

* Contribute positively to service development and quality assurance processes

* Work collaboratively within multi-agency frameworks to safeguard children

* Ensure all case recording is accurate, timely and compliant with statutory guidance

🔹 About You

To be considered, you must have:

* A recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, Social Work Degree or equivalent)

* Current Social Work England registration

* Significant post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care

* Experience managing complex safeguarding and court cases

* Strong analytical, assessment and report-writing skills

* Ability to work independently while supporting team development
