About The Role:

We are looking for experienced and highly capable Deputy Managers to support the leadership and day to day operations of a Children’s Residential Home in East London. This is a key role working alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates safely, effectively and in line with regulatory and organisational standards. You will play a critical part in supporting staff, safeguarding young people and ensuring high quality, trauma informed care is consistently delivered.

The role requires a hands on approach, with the ability to step into leadership when required and drive performance, culture, and outcomes within the home.

• Work alongside the Registered Manager to oversee the day to day operations of the home
• Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager and take responsibility for the running of the service
• Support and supervise staff to ensure they meet the needs of young people and maintain high standards of care
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of all young people in line with safeguarding procedures and regulations
• Undertake direct work with young people, building positive relationships and supporting their development
• Lead on managing child protection concerns, incidents, and complaints in line with policy and legislation
• Support the implementation of the home’s Statement of Purpose and ensure objectives are achieved
• Work in partnership with external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people
• Ensure accurate record keeping, including care plans, risk assessments, and financial records
• Contribute to audits, quality assurance processes and continuous improvement within the service
• Support rota planning, staffing levels and resource allocation to ensure safe and effective care delivery

We are looking for resilient, organised and committed individuals who can support leadership within a fast paced and demanding environment.

You will have:

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
• Experience working within a Children’s Residential Home
• Worked as a Team Leader or above in a Children's Residential Home
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
• Experience in supervising and supporting staff teams
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
• A proactive, hands on approach to leadership and problem solving
