Senior Accounting Opportunity with a Growing Accountancy Practice

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to take the next step in their career, with responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients and the opportunity to work closely with both clients and junior members of the team.

As a Senior Accountant, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, overseeing accounts and tax work while providing support and guidance to more junior members of the team.

You will play an important role in delivering a high-quality service to clients and helping the practice continue to grow.

• Prepare and review limited company, sole trader and partnership accounts
• Prepare and review VAT returns
• Prepare Corporation Tax and Personal Tax returns
• Manage a portfolio of clients and act as a key point of contact
• Communicate directly with clients and build strong working relationships
• Provide support, guidance and technical assistance to junior team members
• Review work prepared by junior members of the team
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
• Work with modern cloud accounting software
• Assist with more complex accounting and tax matters
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within relevant deadlines
• Keep up to date with changes in accounting and tax legislation

Our client is looking for an experienced accountant who is confident working with clients and capable of managing their own portfolio of work.

You will ideally have:

• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified or equivalent experience
• Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of accounts and taxation
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and client-management skills
• The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
• A proactive approach and willingness to improve processes
• A genuine desire to develop and progress within the profession
