Overview

Environmental & Sustainability Manager position at Rayden Engineering, headquartered in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. The role is permanent, full‑time and offers a competitive salary plus an excellent benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement and monitor Environmental Management Plans across multiple projects.
  • Maintain and improve ISO
    14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Manage environmental audits, inspections and compliance programmes.
  • Support environmental permits, consents and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, the Environment Agency and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead legal compliance verification activities.
  • Deliver environmental training, inductions and awareness programmes.
  • Support project teams with environmental planning and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with RAMS preparation and environmental risk assessments.
  • Investigate incidents and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Produce detailed monthly reports for Directors and Senior Management.
  • Drive a positive environmental culture throughout the business.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 2 years of Environmental Management experience.
  • IEMA Foundation Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental Legislation and Compliance.
  • Experience working with ISO
    14001 Management Systems.
  • Experience conducting Environmental Audits.
  • Understanding of Construction, Utilities, Civil Engineering or Infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong IT and reporting skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
  • Experience in Oil & Gas sector.
  • Utilities or Infrastructure background.
  • Multi‑site operational experience.
  • Experience with environmental permit and consent applications.
  • Construction project compliance management.
